Welcome to the Tas Central Coast Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association. Our local group offers a relaxed, non-judgmental and supportive environment where parents and families can connect, share experiences, and access accurate information about babies, breastfeeding and parenting.
We welcome all families — whether you are breastfeeding, mixed-feeding, bottle-feeding, exclusively expressing, pregnant, or not breastfeeding at all. Our gatherings are informal and friendly, and often include access to a trained breastfeeding counsellor or educator who can help answer questions or provide reassurance.
We generally meet face-to-face on a fortnightly basis (with some seasonal variations), alternating between social catch-ups such as “Cuppa and Chats”, informal “Info and Chat” discussion sessions, and summer “Pram Walk and Talks”. Occasional additional events, such as dessert nights, are also held throughout the year.
Our events are run by trained volunteers and are designed to be flexible — no one minds if you arrive late, leave early, or need to attend around your baby’s needs. Babies, children, grandparents and support people are all welcome.
The Australian Breastfeeding Association also offers Breastfeeding Preparation Sessions for expectant parents via live online education webinars. Sessions are held weekly on Saturdays and some weeknights. Local group members may be eligible for a $35 cashback offer — contact the group for details.
Our group covers the Central Coast region including Forth, Ulverstone, Gawler, Gunns Plains, North Motton, Preston, Penguin, Riana, South Riana, Sulphur Creek and Heybridge.
