The Penguin Makeover Community is a volunteer-led group dedicated to enhancing the liveability, sustainability and appearance of Penguin for both residents and visitors.
Through practical, hands-on action, volunteers undertake activities such as gardening, watering, weeding, litter collection, painting, lighting improvements and community education. The group also hosts social and community events, including the popular “One Hour for Penguin”, encouraging people to contribute in small but meaningful ways.
Active since 2018, the Penguin Makeover Community has made a visible and lasting difference to the town and was recognised as Central Coast Community Group of the Year 2025 for its proactive and inclusive approach to community care.
